Meet Liz Earle MBE, Founder

Liz Earle is known first and foremost for her passion for beauty, natural health and wellbeing. A broadcaster and bestselling author of over 30 health and wellbeing titles, she’s also co-founder and creator of our Great British brand, Liz Earle Naturally Active.

A life-long fascination for botanicals and natural remedies led to Liz’s early career as a magazine health and beauty editor. In 1995, with good friend and business partner Kim Buckland, she founded Liz Earle Naturally Active from the shores of the Isle of Wight, which remains our island home to this day.

Alongside stints as a TV presenter, on ITV’s This Morning and her TV show Liz Earle’s Lifestyle, Liz continued her pioneering work into natural health and beauty and in 1996, co-founded the Guild of Health Writers to encourage a dialogue between traditional western and complimentary medicines. All the while, growing the Liz Earle Naturally Active range into the multi award-winning, bestselling beauty brand that it has become today.

In 2009, Liz’s entrepreneurial efforts were recognised when she was awarded an MBE for her services to UK industry.

Inspired by her charitable work with The Prince’s Trust, ACE Africa and the National Osteoporosis Society, among others, Liz established her own charity, LiveTwice, in 2010 to provide opportunities for the disadvantaged in the UK and developing countries, notably Eastern Africa – a region Liz has visited numerous times on sourcing field trips.

Passionate about food, farming and the environment, Liz is also ambassador for The Sustainable Food Trust, an advocate for The Soil Association, and co-founder of the original food labelling pressure group FLAG. She is an ambassador for Fairtrade and also has a Fair & Fine certified Fairtrade jewellery line based on her unique botanical designs.

Today, as well as running a thriving, pasture-fed farm in the West Country, Liz is the founder of Liz Earle Wellbeing, a website and lifestyle magazine, which draws upon her 25 years of respected research and trusted expertise to provide balanced advice and ideas on living well – from delicious, nutritious recipes to engaging articles on natural health and wellness.

Although no longer an owner, Liz remains a global brand ambassador for our Great British beauty company and continues to work closely alongside our directors to ensure the naturally active philosophy remains at the heart of everything we do.
