Being a botanically based skincare company we've always been aware of the benefits of working with the environment rather than against it.
There are many small ways we can reduce our environmental impact at work and at home, all of which can add up to a big difference. Read below about just a few things we're doing here at Liz Earle to make a difference.

Sourcing the highest quality naturally active ingredients is fundamental to the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare range, but their source must be ethical too. That's why we have Anna Macleod, our ethnobotanist, who researches sustainable, fairly traded ingredients from sources that support local eco systems, ensuring their impact on the environment is as minimal as possible.

Many of our products are already made from easily recyclable materials such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyethylene teraphthalate (PET). Log on to earth911.org to find your local recycling centre.

We love sharing our news with you, but we also know we have a responsibility to reduce our environmental impact. That's why we use recycled paper and paper sourced from sustainably managed forests in all our communications. In addition, our newsletters and leaflets are now printed using 100% vegetable inks and solvent free varnishes, which are better for the environment.

Last year we moved into the Green House, a building specifically designed to make our workplace a greener place to be by harnessing the power of Mother Nature. We've installed geo-thermal heating, which uses natural heat to keep us warm (and cool). This heat is also used in our water supply to give us hot water. We harvest the rain water that falls on the roof so it can be used to flush our toilets and to save electricity, the lighting is on movement and sensory timers so that it automatically turns off when there is no-one in the room.
We're at the beginning of our green journey but whilst our 'to-do' list is long, it's getting shorter.
